First edition will be hosted on the island of Fanø, October 9, 2026

Denmark is flat. At least thats what people say. But ride far enough across it, and flat becomes its own kind of challenge.

Kingdom of Flatlands starts on the small island of Fanoe, where we gather the evening before the race. Nothing formal just riders meeting, eating good local food, checking bikes and sharing that quiet excitement that comes before a long adventure.

The next morning we take the ferry to Esbjerg together. When the ramp drops and your tyres hit theroad, the race begins. From here, 1000 kilometres of Denmark lie between the start and the finish in Copenhagen.

The route heads across the wide, open roads of West Jutland, where the wind quickly reminds you that flat terrain is never really easy. You ride through quiet towns, farmland, fjords and long stretches where its just you, your bike and the road.

Further east the route crosses Funen, Denmarks green garden island, before continuing toward Zealand and the final push toward Copenhagen.

There are no big mountains here. The challenge is something else:

wind, distance and the rhythm of constant pedalling.

After crossing the Kingdom of Flatlands, the ride ends at Copenhagen Cycling Club. Here, Ulle and his team will welcome you in with good food, a place to sit, and curiosity to hear about your journey across Denmark.

Registration opens end of april and is limited to 100.pax only this first season
